Released in 1997 by Interscope Records and Rainmaker Records, Soak (often referred to as their self-titled album) is a definitive work from the Austin, Texas-based industrial rock band. Produced by Ben Grosse—known for his work with heavyweights like Sevendust and Filter—the album delivers a dense, multi-layered sound that blends aggressive alternative rock with industrial metal and atmospheric electronic textures. The record is anchored by the rhythmic intensity of Heath Macintosh and the distinctive vocal delivery of Jason Demetri, featuring standout tracks like "Graze," "Clover," and the gritty "Me Compassionate". Often drawing comparisons to contemporary acts like Nine Inch Nails or Tool, this release remains a hidden gem of the late-90s industrial scene, showcasing a unique balance of melodic hooks and raw, mechanical energy.
