Application Instructions for Spot Peroxide-Powered Carpet & Upholstery Cleaner Spot is a powerful, ready-to-use cleaner. Always use as directed, work in a well-ventilated area, and test in an inconspicuous area first. Safety Precautions: Wear Gloves and Eye Protection: While generally safe for use, wearing gloves and eye protection is recommended, especially for prolonged contact or sensitive skin. Test in Inconspicuous Area: ALWAYS test Spot in a small, inconspicuous area (e.g., under a seat, hidden carpet section) BEFORE full application. Check for colorfastness, darkening, or any adverse reactions. This is crucial as fabric dyes can vary. Do Not Ingest: Keep out of reach of children. Ventilation: Work in a well-ventilated area, especially when cleaning larger sections. Do Not Let Dry: Avoid letting the product dry completely on the fabric, especially on delicate materials. Application Method: Vacuum Thoroughly: Before applying Spot, thoroughly vacuum the carpet or upholstery to remove all loose dirt, dust, and debris. This step significantly improves cleaning effectiveness. Shake Well: Shake the bottle of Spot thoroughly before each use. Spray Affected Area: Lightly and evenly mist Spot directly onto the stained or soiled area. For larger areas or general cleaning, spray a uniform layer over the section. Do not oversaturate. Allow to Dwell: Allow the product to dwell on the surface for 1-3 minutes. You may see some light bubbling, which indicates the peroxide working to break down contaminants. Agitate: Using a clean, soft-bristled interior brush (or a microfiber towel folded into quarters), gently agitate the treated area in a circular or back-and-forth motion. This helps work the product into the fibers and lift the stain. Blot & Extract: For Spot Cleaning: Firmly blot the agitated area with a clean, dry, absorbent microfiber towel. Apply pressure to absorb the lifted dirt and moisture. Fold the towel to a clean side frequently. For General Cleaning / Deep Cleaning: Use a wet/dry vacuum or an automotive extractor to thoroughly extract the soiled solution and moisture from the fabric. This is the most effective way to remove all contaminants. Rinse (Optional but Recommended for Large Areas): For larger areas, after extraction, a light mist of clean water followed by another extraction pass can help ensure all residues are removed. Allow to Dry: Allow the treated area to air dry completely. Ensure the area is well-ventilated during drying. Avoid sitting on or placing items on damp upholstery. Repeat if Necessary: For extremely stubborn stains, a second application and agitation may be necessary after the first application has dried. Tips for Best Results: Act Fast: Treat spills and stains as quickly as possible for the best chance of complete removal. Blot, Don't Rub: When blotting, use firm pressure to absorb the stain rather than rubbing, which can push the stain deeper into the fibers. Work in Sections: When cleaning larger areas, work in manageable sections to prevent the product from drying on the fabric. Vacuum Again: Once completely dry, vacuum the cleaned area again to restore the fabric's pile and remove any loosened, dried residue.
