The Portrait looks back at a time when elegance was built into everything — clothing, objects, architecture, even the smallest details of daily life. It reflects a world where fili gree, stonework, and ornament weren’t decoration but a marker of status and expectation. The figure has no face because this isn’t about a specific person. It’s about the kind of presence that existed in those eras: composed, controlled, and held in place by the roles and rules of their time. The piece captures the feeling of history as something fixed — a moment you can see but never enter. It shows the beauty of that past, but also the distance of it. What remains is the shape, the posture, the refinement, and the sense of a life defined by structure and presentation. It’s a portrait of a time that no longer exists, frozen in the way only memory and history can be. Show more
