Thinkware Multiplexer
Thinkware MB-100 Multiplexer Add side, cabin or rear views to a supported Thinkware dash cam. The MB-100 combines up to four additional camera feeds and sends them to the front cam era for storage, giving you up to five views in one system. Plan the camera positions around the vehicle and the detail you need. A delivery van, rideshare car and truck may need different combinations. Up to 5 Views 1080p Composite 12V / 24V Power Match the recorder and connection cables The Thinkware Q200, F200 PRO, F790, X700, X800, U1000 Plus and Q850 are listed on Thinkware’s current product page. Its current installation guide also lists ARC 800, U1000 PRO, Q850 PRO and X850. Match the exact model and its Multiplexer connection cable before installation. Connect the box’s V-Out lead to the front dash cam’s rear-camera input. Additional cameras connect to CAM 1 through CAM 4 on the box. A rear camera already attached to the front recorder becomes one of those extra inputs; it does not add a sixth view. The newer U1000 Plus and Q850 connections need the appropriate model-specific cable or adapter. A cable that fits an older Thinkware camera is not automatically correct for these models. Understand the shared 1080p image The combined output is 1920 × 1080 at 30FPS. With four extra views arranged in an equal grid, each quadrant occupies 960 × 540 pixels. That is less detail per view than four separate Full HD files. The front camera keeps its own recording and resolution. The switches on the box select the composite arrangement. Use the diagram on the unit for the number of attached cameras and check the result in Live View. Port numbers determine where each feed appears in the combined image. The front dash cam stores the composite feed on its memory card along with its own front recording. The Multiplexer has no separate memory-card recorder. Review original files from the actual camera positions before deciding whether the layout captures enough detail. Power and test the whole system Both the front camera and the Multiplexer need power. The box supports 12V and 24V systems, using BAT and ground leads. For parking recording, the installation must keep the box and the camera powered in the way specified by their guides. Thinkware recommends professional installation. Test every camera feed before permanently mounting the cameras or concealing the cables. Secure the box and wiring clear of seat rails, moving parts and airbag paths. If a view is missing, check the power supply, fully seated connectors and layout switches. Test the affected camera directly with a compatible front-camera connection to help distinguish a camera fault from a Multiplexer or cable issue. No. It combines extra camera feeds for a compatible Thinkware front dash cam. The front camera records and stores the video. Does it support five extra cameras? No. It supports up to four additional inputs. Together with the separate front camera, that makes a maximum of five camera views. Does each extra camera get its own Full HD file? No. The additional feeds share a single 1920 × 1080 composite recording at 30FPS. In an equal four-view grid, each view occupies 960 × 540 pixels. The front view is recorded separately. Which front cameras work with it? Thinkware’s current product page lists Q200, F200 PRO, F790, X700, X800, U1000 Plus and Q850. Thinkware’s current installation guide also lists ARC 800, U1000 PRO, Q850 PRO and X850. Check the exact connection cable and adapter for your model. Can I keep the rear camera from my two-channel kit? A compatible rear camera can become one of the Multiplexer inputs. The Multiplexer’s V-Out connection takes the front camera’s rear-input port, so the existing rear camera is counted among the maximum four extra views. Can I mix cabin, side and exterior cameras? Yes, when each camera and cable is compatible with the Multiplexer. Choose the mix around the vehicle and the area you need to see. A cabin camera is not a substitute for an exterior-rated camera. Do I need to use the numbered inputs for specific camera types? The port numbers determine placement in the composite image. Compatible camera types can be combined as needed. Check the switch settings and Live View to confirm the intended arrangement. How do I change the combined video layout? Set the switch bank using the diagram printed on the box for your camera count and desired arrangement. Confirm all feeds in Live View before finishing the installation. Can it record while parked? It can support the connected system’s parking recording when both the box and compatible front camera have the required power supply and settings. Powering only the front camera is insufficient if the Multiplexer loses power. Will it work in a 24V truck? The Multiplexer supports 12V and 24V power. The front camera and every power accessory must also be suitable for the vehicle’s electrical system; verify the complete installation. Does it have its own memory card? No. The compatible front camera stores the composite feed and its separate front recording on the camera’s memory card. Why is one view black or missing? Check the box’s power, the camera and cable connections, and the layout-switch setting. Test each camera before installation. A compatible direct connection to the front camera can help isolate a faulty camera or cable. Are U1000 Plus and Q850 connections the same as older models? These models use their matching connection adapters. The original store package lists the box, power cable, V-Out cable and installation guide. Model-specific adapters and the ARC connection cable are not listed; confirm and obtain the required connection parts for your front camera. Can I install it myself? Thinkware recommends professional installation. It involves powering the box and camera, positioning multiple cameras and routing cables through the vehicle. Test the feeds before concealing wiring. Will extra cameras remove every blind spot? No. Coverage depends on the lens, mounting position, vehicle shape and selected layout. Check real recordings in daylight and darkness; adding more views does not guarantee readable detail at every distance. Are the pictured vehicle setups complete bundles? The layouts show examples of how compatible components can be arranged. Check the camera selection and installation parts listed in your order rather than treating an example picture as a complete package list. Are any cameras included? No. The base package includes the Multiplexer, power cable, V-Out cable and installation guide. A compatible front dash cam and all add-on cameras are purchased separately.
