Brass Vajra Phurba | Symbol of Protection and Transformation ------------------------------------------------Size: 63cm(Height) x 13.5cm(Length) x 12cm(Width)Weight: 2.3 kgMaterial s: Brass------------------------------------------------ About Our Product This Vajra Phurba Ritual Dagger measures 63cm in height, 13.5cm in length, and 12cm in width, with a weight of 2.3 kg. Crafted from brass, the piece has a tall ceremonial form with a fierce multi-faced deity head, vajra-style sections, a pointed lower blade, and a broad stand. In Vajrayana Buddhism, the phurba represents protection, transformation, stability, and the symbolic overcoming of harmful forces and spiritual obstacles. This Vajra Phurba features a fierce three-faced deity head near the top, each face showing strong eyes, fangs, and powerful expressions. Above the head is a pointed finial, while below it are two vajra-style sections with curved prongs surrounding a central shaft. These vajra forms represent indestructible awakened wisdom and spiritual strength. The lower section continues into a long three-sided ritual blade, traditionally connected with overcoming the three poisons of ignorance, attachment, and anger. Decorative guardian-like details appear where the blade begins, while the broad four-sided stand at the bottom keeps the phurba upright for ritual or altar display. This Vajra Phurba can be placed on a Vajrayana altar, shrine, meditation space, ritual table, or collection of Himalayan ceremonial objects. It is used symbolically in tantric practice to represent the fixing and transformation of obstacles, the protection of sacred space, and the steady focus of the mind during spiritual practice. Introduction of Phurba The ceremonial dagger (Sanskrit: Kila; Tibetan: phurba) is essential for expelling evil and is considered particularly effective in neutralizing the forces obstructing Tantric Buddhist practice. It has ancient origins, first appearing in the Indian Rig Veda as the core blade of the vajra used by Indra to destroy the primordial cosmic snake Vritra. Kila, derived from Sanskrit, was most likely associated with Vedic sacrifices. Meditation on the Vajrakila Tantra, an early Indian scripture first promoted in Tibet in the eighth century by Padmasambhava, one of the founding teachers of Tibetan Buddhism, is used to invoke the three-headed Vajrakila Buddha.
