Creamy milk chocolate and orange with a hint of delicious, juicy green apple. To celebrate B-Corp Month, and International Womens Day, we're donating $2 from every kilo of Rwandan coffee sold in March. $1 will go to Melbourne Coffee Merchants' 'Supporting Strong Women' Campaign which aims to raise money towards building a daycare centre in a coffee region of Rwanda. $1 will go to Grounds for Health, an organisation focused on womens health in coffee-growing regions! This mouthwateringly delicious, 100% Red Bourbon lot was grown by independent smallholder producers in the high hills of Rwanda. Established in 2007, Remera washing station is located in the Kigoma Sector of Huye District within the country’s rugged Southern Province. Remera is the largest and busiest washing station operated by our origin partner, Buf Coffee, which is owned by the wonderful Epiphanie Mukashyaka, and run by her son Samuel Muhirwa. Typically, farms in the area surrounding Remera are very small, averaging around a quarter of a hectare (or 300-600 trees). Here, most farms are situated between 1750 and 2100 MASL. The high elevation of this area allows coffee cherries to ripen slowly, resulting in a delicious, complex and sweet flavour profile.
