SHIFTING brings together two opposite moods. A warm golden ochre, marked with traces of rust, meets a deep indigo that glows here and there with flashes of crimson, while a fine th read of white and turquoise light runs between them. As its title suggests, the painting has no fixed direction, so you can hang it whichever way feels right. With the gold above, it recalls light resting over deep water; turned around, the indigo becomes a night sky over sunlit land. Its slim, elongated format suits a narrow wall, a hallway or the space above a bed or a console.
